Global Midwest Alliance is an economic development organization bringing together both the public and private sectors to collaborate across the manufacturing sector in the Midwest.

The Alliance aligns and integrates resources throughout the Midwest helping businesses to grow by leveraging existing resources to develop new products and find customers throughout the world.

Manufacturing is the cornerstone of our country's economy.  Our ability to manufacture a variety of goods is the foundation on which America’s ability to innovate, compete and create good jobs is built.  Currently, manufacturers in the United States perform 70 percent of all private-sector R&D.  This accounts for 60 percent of the United States' exports, as well as the majority of all U.S industry patents.

Over the last six decades, innovation — in new products or new processes — was central to three-quarters of the nation’s economic growth.  American manufacturers have been major drivers of our country's economic progress.

Today, innovation and manufacturing capabilities are dispersed around the globe.  For the United States to stay at the forefront, we need to redouble our efforts to promote a dynamic manufacturing sector.  Vital to this effort are the contributions from both the private and public sectors, working individually as well as collaboratively.

The Midwest economy and workforce is more reliant on the manufacturing industry than in any other region in the United States. To remain strong, our economy needs to maintain an advanced, globally competitive manufacturing sector that promotes innovation, creates high-value-added products and leading-edge technologies, and creates job across the Midwest.
The Alliance is providing a Manufacturing Industry Forum for meaningful interactions between key executives and industry leaders who will provide expert insight into the latest manufacturing innovations that are offering the best opportunities for future growth within the sector.
