We are pleased to invite you to an evening reception at the University Club of Chicago hosted by Global Midwest Alliance, Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Energy Council, featuring U.S. Executive Director to the World Bank Ian Solomon and Asian Development Bank Director General, Alessandro Pio, announcing a partnership between the Alliance and GTI to host a an Energy Project Workshop on July 15-16, 2013 at GTI. This two-day intensive workshop on natural gas needs and opportunities for the U.S. industry to engage in globally will include the World Bank, The Asian Development Bank, other multilaterals and the international community.
Mr. Solomon will speak as to the Bank’s interest in private sector engagement. Mr. Pio will provide a regional perspective and speak to Asia's energy challenges. GTI will provide an industry overview and the Alliance will provide additional information on the World Bank Private Sector Liaison Office (PSLO) program and International Financing Institutions (IFI) opportunities. Finally, the Energy Council will discuss the situation here at home. This reception is an opportunity for companies interested in developing a relationship with Global Midwest Alliance’s Private Sector Liaison Office, as well as those interested in a preview of the coming natural gas workshop at GTI.
U.S. businesses can also learn how to use their expertise in multiple industries using multilateral funding and increase their global participation via partnerships with fellow U.S. firms. Attendees at the reception will include civic and business leaders, World Bank Private Sector Liaison Office clients and prospects, development and international partners and organizations, and the energy community.
