Global Midwest Alliance and AIM Honor S&C Electric
Midwest Manufacturing Matters Gala Held in Chicago
CHICAGO – Global Midwest Alliance and the Alliance for Illinois Manufacturing (AIM) hosted the inaugural Midwest Manufacturing Matters gala on October 3 in Chicago to present the 2014 Legacy Award to honoree, S&C Electric Co. John Estes, Executive Chairman of S&C Electric Co., accepted the award on behalf of the company.
"As the only business-led, region-wide economic organization in the Midwest, Global Midwest Alliance believes in the importance of recognizing the manufacturing excellence that exists in this region," said Gail Longmore, CEO and Managing Director of the Alliance. "It is important to create a platform that recognizes the breadth and depth that Midwest manufacturers play in our regional, national and global economy."
In addition, awards were given to the following recipients:
- Lifetime Achievement Award winner, John Blumenshine, III, Vice President of Facilities for S&C Electric Co.;
- Global Midwest Alliance's Manufacturer of the Year, Tom Hacker, President of C&L Supreme; and
- AIM's Manufacturer of the Year, Linda Boasmond, Owner and President of Cedar Concepts.
The event bought together leaders, suppliers and service providers throughout the region from the many faces of the manufacturing industry. Global Midwest Alliance and AIM created this annual campaign to celebrate the impact, accomplishments and future promise of the manufacturing industry in the Midwest. Both organizations -- recipients of the proceeds of the event -- will continue to support the manufacturing industry across the Midwest with a number of educational and workforce development programs, with the goal of continuing to realize the strong growth in the dynamic Midwest market.
