Driving Innovation and Growth
Press Release
We are also introducing new levels of partnership to:

  •   Provide access to a targeted audience
  •   Give you an opportunity to engage with executives and industry leaders
  •   Provide visibility on the Alliance's website, in program advertising and visibility at events

Introducing the Industry Focus Breakfast Series
In 2013, we will be presenting a quarterly Industry Focus breakfast series concentrating on innovation, growth and globalization in the energy, manufacturing, food and clean technology industry sectors. Each Industry Focus event will take a closer look into the industry sector, examining how the latest innovations are changing the industry, how companies in the sector are expanding and growing to meet demands, and how companies are taking advantage of opportunities to compete globally.  Our Industry Focus series will bring you well-known speakers, analysts, corporate executives and government leaders in each industry sector who will be discussing the state of the industry today, important issues that will affect the way we do business in the future and how we will operate tomorrow and beyond.   The program will also include a look at World Bank Private Sector Liaison Office and ways that companies can take advantage of the many opportunities for engagement globally through the World Bank Group.

Networking at Executive Briefing Roundtables
Alliance partners also expressed an interest in networking opportunities with industry leaders, guest speakers and panelists. The Alliance is pleased to announce the Executive Briefing series, an exclusive, member-only roundtable for Global Midwest Alliance partners.  Executive Briefing roundtables will bring Alliance partners together with industry leaders and executives to discuss the state of the industry and strategies for growth and globalization. Join Us on March 13
On March 13, we are kicking off our new programming format with a special lunch event, U.S. Expertise for the World Market, at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, featuring the Honorable Ian Solomon, United States Executive Director of the World Bank Group, Michael Howard, Regional Director for the Midwest Region, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and David Oppedahl, Business Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Our experts will be discussing how U.S. businesses can leverage their expertise within various industry sectors using multilateral funding and increase global participation via partnerships with fellow U.S. firms. The program will feature a discussion on the growing needs for industry sector expertise in emerging markets and how partnerships with World Bank Group and The Export-Import Bank of the U.S. benefits Midwest companies.

Also on the evening of March 13, join Global Midwest Alliance, the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Energy Council at the University Club of Chicago for a Networking Reception with special guest U.S. Executive Director to the World Bank Group Ian Solomon. We will also be announcing an initiative between the Alliance and Illinois' Gas Technology Institute to provide a World Bank Project & Procurement Workshop on July 15-16, 2013. This two-day, intensive workshop on natural gas needs and opportunities for the U.S. industry to engage in Asia will take place at GTI.

Global Midwest Alliance Announces New Programming Format for 2013

CHICAGO – Global Midwest Alliance, host of the Annual Midwest Clean Tech Conference, is pleased to announce our new programming format for 2013. This year, the Alliance is focused on meeting the needs of our partners. You told us that you would like us to bring you more in-depth programming focused on specific industry sectors throughout the year and we listened. Instead of one flagship event, the Midwest Clean Tech Conference and Innovation Competition, we have created a series of flagship programs and platforms to promote innovation, growth and globalization throughout the Midwest.
